'Is that ref on drugs' - Schmeichel blasts Moss as Twitter reacts to Leicester v West Ham

Viewers did not take kindly to Jonathan Moss's display during the Foxes' 2-2 draw on Sunday, with many - including the goalkeeping legend - ridiculing the official's calls

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel ripped into referee Jonathan Moss following his series of controversial decisions during Leicester City's 2-2 draw with West Ham on Sunday.

The Dane, whose son Kasper Schmeichel plays in goal for the Foxes, tweeted 'Is that ref on drugs' in reference to Moss, who showed Leicester striker Jamie Vardy a second yellow card for alleged simulation in the box, gave two controversial penalties and failed to award one to Leicester after Robert Huth was manhandled by Angelo Ogbonna in a manic ending to the game.

The Foxes entered the clash looking to extend their lead over Tottenham at the top of the table and went ahead through Vardy, though Andy Carroll and Aaroon Cresswell temporarily put the visitors in the lead.

Vardy had gone from hero to villain after receiving his second caution of the afternoon from Moss, who ruled that he had dived seeking to earn a penalty with the Foxes leading 1-0.

The official also earned the wrath of West Ham supporters, who disagreed with his call to award Jeffrey Schlupp the crucial spot-kick from which Leicester equalised.

Schmeichel senior's reaction was one of the most outspoken, although he was far from alone...
