Pepe insists Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘light years’ ahead of every other player

One can only assume that Pepe has forgotten about the existence of Lionel Messi - and possibly Luis Suarez and Neymar too, for that matter - after telling reporters that his Real Madrid teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, is “light years” ahead of anyone else.
The Portuguese centre-back believes Ronaldo, 31, is the world’s best player - despite the fact he was beaten to the 2015 Ballon d’Or by Messi in January.
Ronaldo has scored 43 goals in 41 matches this season, but his overall influence in matches wasn’t what it was compared to a few years ago. Not that Pepe would agree with that assessment.
"People like Cristiano are unique, they are people blessed by God," he said in an interview with the Portuguese Football Federation, per Goal. "He was blessed by God and knew he would become one of the best in the history of football.
"Cristiano is the best and is light years ahead of anyone else. He's a quiet person, a hard-worker and honest."
