Ighalo blames goal drought on Eagles

SUPER Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo has blamed his involve­ment with the Super Eagles for the goals drought that befell him in his club, Watford.
Ighalo who equally fired blank in the Eagles said travelling home to honor national team call made things difficult for him.
The 25-year-old striker who is on the shop list of top EPL sides stated in an interview granted From The Rookery End Podcast that the international week was very tiring.
In his words: “After you play at the weekend you have to fly to and play with the national team. You then play twice in six or seven days after a long flight. I remember that [in March] I flew from here to Ni­geria. It was seven hours. Then we flew to Egypt, back again to Ni­geria and then back to England. It was really difficult and telling on me. We are humans, not robots. So it’s really tiring. But what can you do? It’s your national team. We are all working to represent the national team.”
Meanwhile, Ighalo would be al­lowed to leave Watford this sum­mer if the money is right, Watford sports consultant, Nicola Salerno disclosed. “Everything will depend on what offers we get for Ighalo,” Salerno told Africanfootball.com.
“He is an extraordinary player, who could interest a lot of clubs. He has done really well this sea­son, scoring so many goals.” This may ignite battle for his signature between Arsenal and Manchester United, according to The Daily Star.
Ighalo had scored 14 Premier League goals this season, but just one of those had come in the sec­ond half of the campaign.
