Real Madrid interested in potential £34million transfer raid for want-away Arsenal star

Image
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in replacing Casemiro in defensive midfield and have made Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira a transfer target in that position. The Uruguay international is having a difficult time at the Emirates Stadium at the moment, having fallen out of favour with manager Unai Emery and having often found himself playing slightly out of position in a more advanced midfield role. According to  Don Balon , Real Madrid are now considering pouncing for Torreira to strengthen in the middle of the park, with the report citing recent quotes from the player’s agent that suggest he’s unsettled at Arsenal. This could be bad news for the Gunners, who could really do without losing players at the moment as Emery faces a tough enough job as it is to rebuild this side. Another report from  Don Balon  does suggest, however, that Arsenal could allow Torreira to leave for around £34million, with Atletico Madrid also mentioned as potential suitors. It remains to be s

Zlatan Ibrahimovic in talks over AC Milan return

Image
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in talks over a return to AC Milan but a deal is still a long way off, according the news. He played for the club between 2010 and 2012 and is looking for a new club after announcing his  departure from LA Galaxy  earlier this month. Milan are understood to be willing to offer the 38-year-old an 18-month deal but his wage expectations are believed to be an issue, with the club currently serving a ban from European competition due to Financial Fair Play breaches. Ibrahimovic, who scored 53 goals in 58 games during his two years with the Galaxy, will decide on his future in the coming weeks. He scored 56 goals in 85 games during his time with Milan and helped them to the Serie A title in 2011.

David Luiz wants to leave Chelsea for Arsenal as Unai Emery aims for final day centre-back deal

Image
Unai Emery: "If we can on the last day, we will try to sign another centre-back, but one who has the capacity to help us." "We are finding the possibility to add another centre-back, but only if he can help us in our performance. We are working on that. "I'm happy with our defensive players. We are working in the last minute, we are also taking the possibility that we can add some more players who can help us with good performance. "We tried to sign some important, expensive players for our defence. But when we can't do that, the second line players don't really convince us to sign them."

Romelu Lukaku: Inter Milan close to signing Man Utd striker after £77m bid

Image
The offer is worth an initial £65m with £12m in add ons. Lukaku's agent, Federico Pastorello, is in the UK for crucial talks with United, while his client remains in Belgium where he has been training with former club Anderlecht. United had expected the 26-year-old to report back to their Carrington training ground on Tuesday. The Belgium international angered the club last week for leaking private training data via Twitter and was told, via Pastorello, to delete the post. The 26-year-old is keen to leave Old Trafford in this window having not played a minute of pre-season for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side and feels he has been treated unfairly since losing his place when Solskjaer took charge in December.

Anthony Joshua's rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr appears to be edging closer as promoter Eddie Hearn is awaiting paperwork to be finalised

Image
"I know, I think, where the fight is going, but I just have to wait for some paperwork to be tied up and then we'll make an announcement, "Cardiff is still a major option. We have two or three other options around the world for neutral venues. "Neutral venues would give us a lot less headache with Andy Ruiz, but if it's Wales, it's Wales, and that's where the fight will be. "But we're just waiting for some paperwork to be tied up and then [Ruiz Jr] will be alerted as to where that venue is." Hearn had suggested earlier in the week that the California-based Mexican will not receive home advantage in a return bout. "They don't want to come to the UK, they never have done," he said.

Of course, these are the players who sprang to mind because I used to watch them when I was at Lille.   "Also, Lacazette used to play for Lyon and so I have had the opportunity to play against him. It will be an honour to play alongside him." Our record signing will be the fourth Ivory Coast international to represent Arsenal, emulating Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue and Gervinho.   Toure was one of Arsene Wenger's finest ever signings - a hugely popula

Kieran Tierney is reportedly edging closer to sealing a move to Arsenal

Image
The Gunners back line has been in desperate need of reinforcements and boss  Unai Emery  identified  Tierney  as the solution to their defensive frailties. Earlier reports suggested that Arsenal have seen two bids for the left-back rejected, and were locked in negotiations with the Scottish champions. It is rumoured that Celtic were not happy with the package Arsenal were offering, which proposed paying the transfer fee in installments and add-ons to satisfy their restricted transfer budget. Tierney has told Celtic that he wants to secure a move to North London and it now looks increasingly likely the deal will be completed in the coming days. Emery is keen to get the remainder of the club's transfer business done swiftly with  Nicolas Pepe  's arrival from Lille due to be announced within hours. Tierney has received support from his former Celtic man,  Virgil Van Dijk  , who has tipped the full-back to be successful in the Premier League. He said: "It

While the deal has still not been officially confirmed by either club, it will only be a matter of time before an announcement is made, and it could even happen tomorrow. Pepe had been linked with a move to the likes of  Liverpool  and  Manchester United  before news broke that, somewhat surprisingly, Arsenal had become the favourites for his signature.

Arsenal sign Nicolas Pepe - Transfer complete for £72m man, announcement to be confirmed

Image
Arsenal are cracking on with their transfer business after a slow start to the summer. The Gunners have now signed four players this transfer window with Gabriel Martinelli, William Saliba and Dani Ceballos all joining Pepe. The Ivorian was flown in today to complete a medical and sign a contract and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that the deal is now done. He tweeted: “Pepe has signed he’s new Arsenal player.” The 24-year-old took Ligue 1 by storm last season after scoring 22 goals and assisting 11 and a host of top clubs have been chasing his signature. And he will join an already formidable attack under Unai Emery, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. Pepe was made Emery's top target after failing to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace. The Eagles had slapped a whopping £90m price-tag on the Ivorian and were not interested in add-ons or installments. But the Gunners did not waste anytime, quickly adjusting their sights on Pe

Patrice Evra says his Man Utd exit was caused by 'broken promises' over his contract

How he was left feeling "betrayed" over a gentleman's agreement with Ed Woodward - without which, he may have remained at the club. He said: "Before the end of that season Ed told me: 'Patrice, you're going to stay for another year because we've got an option in your contract,' but I told him I needed to leave because of family reasons. He shook my hand and said he understood. "Then in May I was having dinner in Dubai on my birthday and had a text from my agent. He told me to go somewhere quiet and sent me a message with the statement from United saying they were pleased to renew my contract for another year. I went mad, I was really disappointed. "I called Ed and swore on the phone, even threatened him. He said I couldn't talk to the director of football like that and that he was going to fine me. After that Ryan Giggs called and said I couldn't leave just because of one man, but it gave me an excuse to leave. I'd alrea
