Army Arrest Notorious Kidnappers In Abia, Recover Over N5M, Ammunitions


Troops of the Nigerian Army combed a den of notorious kidnappers in Nkporo community of Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State on Sunday.
While carrying out the operation,they rescued a kidnapped victim who was earlier shot and held hostage by his abductors at Aba since on 6th of April this month.
The troops recovered the following items from the kidnappers; 2 AK-47 rifles, 9 AK-47 rifle  loaded with 124 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 1 Pistol, 2 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 2 machetes and the sum of Five Million, Four Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira (N5,490,000.00) only.



This  was revealed by the Army Public Relations Officer, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman who also stated that items such as rifles, machetes, ammunition , a Toyota RAV4 jeep , military camouflage jungle hat, mobile telephone handsets, an iPad, bank Debit Card, bunch of different keys, a wrap of suspected marijuana and money was recovered from the suspects.
It was also gathered that two members of the syndicate escaped while one of the suspects, identified as Mr. Chidiebere Sunday, was apprehended. Another member of the gang also died as he fell off  from the roof while trying to escape.
