Fernando Torres posts Instagram message after Barcelona clash

It's safe to say that Fernando Torres had a fairly mixed evening as Atletico Madrid played host to Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Spain international opened the scoring at the Camp Nou but was later sent off for two bookable offences in the first half.
Atletico, who led the quarter-final tie by one goal to nil at the time of Torres' dismissal, failed to hold on in the second half and succumbed to a 2-1 defeat thanks to a brace from Uruguayan international Luis Suarez.
Unsurprisingly, following the contest, Torres blasted UEFA and insisted that it was one of his 'worst days as a footballer'.
After the game, as per Sport, Torres stated: “On the personal side I am very sad and feel very responsible. With 11 it would have been different.
“It's a complicated situation for me. It's one of my worst days as a footballer.

“They were two plays which could be a card or not. What's a shame is that UEFA are more worried about the colours of the shirts and not choosing a referee of the right level.”

SOCIAL MEDIA

But Torres didn't stop there. Following these comments, he took to social media to send a message to fans.
In fact, the striker opted to take full responsibility for the result but suggested that his side can overturn the deficit.
Taking to Instagram, Torres stated: "I take responsibility for our defeat, but now more than ever let’s go to The Calderón for a comeback."

SIMEONE

Torres wasn't the only one to react following the encounter. Atletico boss Diego Simeone backed the forward, claiming that he didn't blame him for the sending off.
When asked who he blamed for the red card, Simeone stated: "Certainly not Torres.

"I can't say what I want... I need to think about what I'm saying so I don't say anything I shouldn't."

TIE IN THE BALANCE

Atletico will be without Torres for the return leg, of course, but they will still believe that they can secure a place in the semi-final.
With an away goal in the bag, Atletico have every chance of eliminating the current holders of the competition. They will have to be at their best, but it would be foolish to completely disregard them at this stage. But they will have to attack the Catalans and that could play into their hands.
